Kentucky Imaginarium

This year the Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning and the Balagula Theatre Company are joining forces to offer low income families in Lexington an opportunity to send their children to an exciting new day camp, "The Kentucky Imaginarium: Creating Kentucky Tale -- An Exploration of Theatre".

This 5 day camp (July 11 – 15th) will take children (ages 10-13) on a unique journey through the history of Kentucky folk life, create a new Kentucky folk tale and tell it in the language of storytelling, drama and puppetry. Children will work with professional actors, talented teachers and university students, and will perform, perhaps for the first time in their lives for a real live audience!
