Actor Bios

Ed Desiato( Fleming ) graduated 47 years ago from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in N.Y.C. and has enjoyed active and diverse stage career ever since. His credits include roles in T.V and movies, such asBlack Beauty,Centennial,the locally produced100 Proof.Desiato has been seen in K.E.T'sMath Countryand 16 episodes of the newPenialCode. Ed's involvement in Lexington's theatre community began in 1973 when he joined the company of Diners Playhouse. His work with Actors Guild of Lexington includesBeast,Camping with Henry and Tom,Over The River And Through The WoodsandTaking Sides. Ed has done roles for Jon Doe Repertoire, which includeThe Good DoctorandSixDegrees of Seperation.Several years ago Ed joined Studio Players where he has been seen in productions ofThe PriceandVisiting Mr. Green, to mention just two. Presently Desiato is heavily involved with The Balagula Theatre Company  as the vice president of the board, a director and an actor. He appeared in Surprise Theatre presentations, co-directedCopenhagen, stared as Sir inThe Dresserand directed the production ofPower Plays. He will appear in the Balagula Theatre production ofBarrymorein January 2008.

Gareth Evans( Stephen )  is pleased to be making his fifth appearance at The Balagula Theatre. He is a Versailles native and a Governors School for the Arts alumni. Gareth has enjoyed working with Transylvania University, The Lexington Shakespeare Festival, Woodford County Theatrical Arts, Lexington Children's Theater, Studio Players, Surprise Theater and the Fantastical Theatricals in the past. Some of his favorite roles include Sevigne inA Shot in the Dark, Claudio inMuch To Do About Nothingand Gason or "the crotch" inKitty the Waitress

 LewBowling  (Dolan) was active in university and community theatre in Colorado and Nebraska and has appeared in productions there ofFiddler on the Roof(Tevya),South Pacific(Emile De Becque),Butterflies Are Free(Don Baker),The Man Who Came to Dinner(Sheridan Whiteside), among others. He has done stage and musical directing for high school and college theatre groups.  His training includes a Shakespeare Workshop with faculty and graduates of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. In the Lexington area Lew has performed with Studio Players, the Lexington Shakespeare Festival, SummerFest, Woodford County Theater, Fantastical Theatricals, Lexington Children's Theatre, Lexington Ballet'sThe Nutcrackerand The Balagula Theatre's productions ofDeath and the MaidenandSurprise Theatre. Lew was last seen as Max Reinhardt in Studio Players production ofShakespeare in Hollywood.

Debbie Sharp(Molly) was last seen at Balagula Theatre in The Dresser (Her Ladyship). She has also appeared in Studio Players productions ofShakespeare in Hollywood(Louella Parsons),The Philadelphia Story(Margaret Lord),Blood Relations(The Actress),NicePeople Dancing to Good Country Music(Eva June Wilfong),Crimes of the Heart(Chick),Nightwatch(Elaine), andThe Price(Esther).

Pete Sears (Arnoll) is a native of Nicholasville. He studied theater at Northern Kentucky University and has been a fixture of Lexington theater scene for over 20 years. Lesley Maner( Stage Manager ) is a Lexington native and  has appeared in numerous  Central Kentucky theatrical productions includingThe Dresser(Irene),Marvin's Room(Lee),Blood Relations(Emma), andDracula(The Maid). She has also worked behind the scenes with many Studio Players  productions, includingThe Foreigner,Other People's MoneyandCrimes of the Heart, just to name a few.
