Touring Productions
The Balagula Theatre Company will be offering two shows to tour the state to raise funds for both the theatre and the hosting organizations. Both shows are well tested on the Balagula Stage and employ only two actors and a stage manager. Sets are portable and require no extra help to mount. Lights and sound are scaled down to the capacity of practically any venue.
In the times when theatres are cutting production costs, scaling down their seasons, and slashing the prices of admissions to attract wider audiences, it seems reasonable to look at each other as a vital resource for low budget, easy to mount shows to fill the gaping holes on our marquees and offer our audiences a wider variety of theatre productions.
William Luce’s “Barrymore” first produced by The Balagula Theatre in 2008 and starring Edmond Desiato and Ryan Case has already been presented on the grand stage of the Historic Kentucky Theatre in Lexington, as well as at Gail Winston’s salon at Riverhouse, North Carolina which seats about 40 and does not have a stage. Samples of Balagula Theatre Company’s production of “Barrymore” are available upon request. More Information
