Current Season and Upcoming Plays

The 2011-2012 Season represents Balagula Theatre's daring artistic programming and includes modern classics redefined and adjusted to staging in a non-traditional venue; a modern American comedy and the world premier of the winner of KWWC's Prize For Women Playwrights. The plays chosen for production have relatively large casts of male and female characters and require participation of the diverse age group of actors.
This season will give Lexington actors an opportunity to work on the Balagula Theatre’s stage, and will introduce our audiences to the work of actors they have not previously seen. The plays were selected by Artistic Co-Directors and approved by the Board. Each play was analyzed from the point of view of its artistic value, social relevance and challenges that it offers designers, directors and actors.
